- Also on April 20th, we'll be having our first Stop Light Party! Never been to a Stop Light Party?! Well, for our virtual rendition, we are asking that if you are looking for romance, have your avatar wear red. Looking for friends? Have your avatar decked out in yellow. If you're open to both romantic and platonic connections, dress your avatar in green! Make sure to also put "R", "G", or "Y" at the end of your name to indicate the color as well!
Grant Opportunities
- Sista Creatives Rising is offering $200 mini grants for 7 women/femme of color artists via their Sista Uprising Fund. Apply here. Donate to this Black disabled mother/daughter led initiative here.
- PowerOn has two open tech grants, one being for LGBTQ community organizations and one for LGBTQ individuals!
Until next our avatars meet,
Al & J Mase
P.S.: We've updated our visit page to include our Garden Guide that includes our Gather and Accessibility Guide, Our space guidelines and so much more!
Garden is a free 24/7 space, but it does cost money for us to maintain it on GatherTown. If you'd like to donate to this work, consider throwing some money in the pot here.
ALT Text: A digital drawing by Amaranthia Sepia of twin waterfalls surrounded by bluish gray rock formations. The waterfalls are parallel to each other. The waterfalls land into a pool filled with vibrant lily pads, lotuses and lotus seed pods. In the middle is a yellow circle with a white outline. Within the circle is white text with a black outline that says, “Seven $200 Microgrants for Biwoc & femme-expressing POC.” The SCR logo is on the bottom right corner. At the top is the Sistas Uprising Fund logo which says, “Sista Creatives Rising Presents: The Sistas Uprising Fund.” The logo shows a brown hands holding a steel watering can, splattered with paint, watering a lighter brown hand containing sprouted lotus seeds. The water looks like a rainbow. Lillies, pink and yellow lotuses and a bright mustard yellow sun are in the background.
