Hey Garden(ers),

Today is Indigenous People's Day, and we recognize the long history of resistance and love we've learned from Indigenous ancestors.

The first official celebration of Indigenous People's Day was in Berkeley, California in 1992. That year marked the 500th year since Columbus first arrived in the Americas. Rather than celebrate his arrival, Berkeley celebrated the culture and people of the American Indigenous Peoples.

There are many ways to support Indigenous folks. Here is a list of call to actions, which include learning whose land you are on and amplifying indigenous voices/artists.
