Friday afternoons are often reflective in Garden. One Friday afternoon, I found Caroline about to start her weekly Yoga sesh and joined in! She was in the Enchanted Library, tucked away deep in the River Room.

Caroline (she/her) / NYC

Caroline began hosting her weekly Yoga stretch in Garden about two months ago. Hemi (another Garden member), suggested Caroline start hosting for Garden as they both practiced yoga together here often. Caroline has been practicing yoga on and off for the last several years. She says yoga has helped with her mental health, and taking breaks after being in front of the screen for too long.

As we started the yoga sesh, Caroline shared a curated video of someone guiding us through a yoga stretch. For me, some of the positions were a little difficult, but I was able to adjust some positions and stretches that felt right. Caroline mentioned that for many folks just starting this is normal. Caroline also mentioned she tries to find BIPOC yoga instructor videos that vary between beginner to intermediate, and have a slower and intentional pace. She likes to switch up locations and will meet in the River Room, the Beach, or find other peaceful and quiet areas in Garden.

Caroline joined Garden late fall 2023 after J Mase posted about it in a BIPOC Coviding Facebook group. Since then, she's in Garden most days co- working silently with other Garden(ers). Caroline helped host Lunar New Year earlier in February, and attended Pandemic Solidarity for the Long Future.

Come by Friday afternoons at 2:15pm PST, click on Caroline's name in the participants list and click "Follow" to find her.

That's all for now, until next our avatars meet!
