As most of you all know, Tuesday is going to be Election Day in the US, which we recognize is a hard time for even the most hopeful of us. In honor of the grief and rage many of us are feeling, we'll be building in some extra time for community members to feel and commune with each other. Tuesday, we'll have a return of Co-Twerk at 2:30pm PST led by Caroline, at 3-5pm PST we'll have a shared craft/art time led by Skyriver and from 5-7pm PST J Mase will be leading us in some games, and reflection.

🏳️🌈 November 8th at 5pm-11pm PST, Ru and Chanelle will be hosting a Part 2 of the Non-Stop Heartstopper Slumbie Party, which will feature the queer teen romance show Heartstopper! They'll be starting the second half of the series, watching approximately ten 30 minute episodes, and talking afterwards. Join them at the Up All Night room for slumber party vibes! Wear pajamas and bring your favorite snacks and comfort items! RSVP to get a reminder!
🍃Join us for the return of our monthly Avian Bird Flu & Disaster Prep informal community discussion on November 9th at 3pm. We will spend the first hour discussing the latest we've learned with the bird flu and how we are preparing for it. The second hour and a half will be a space for planning general disaster prep supplies, kits, etc. The second portion is a follow up to Ariana's disaster workshop (on 8/17) meant to help provide a space for people to begin planning out their disaster kits.
🏳️⚧️December 7th at 1pm PST, join Lady Dane & J Mase for Finding the Divine Trans (a writing workshop), for Trans, Non-Binary &/or Gender Expansive Gardeners about discovering our Trans stories of divinity, creation and calling ourselves into existence! Come whether you are an experienced writer or novice. Expect to come out of this session with 2-3 new poems. RSVP for updates.

🫂 The next sessions of Chronic Illness and Long Covid Support Group will be Thursday November 7th & 21st from 5:30pm-7:30pm PST with Chanelle! Navigating everything that comes with chronic illness can be difficult - from managing symptoms to experiencing grief over missing your pre-illness life. This is a peer support space where we can share our feelings about living with any chronic/long-term illness, including long Covid, during an ongoing pandemic. 🪷 Stretch it out as Caroline leads us in another weekly afternoon Yoga sesh this Friday at 2:15pm PST by streaming a yoga video from YouTube and following along. Videos will be between 25-45 minutes long between easy to moderate pace. Drop ins are always welcome! RSVP via the calendar on the visit page.
🦾 Saturdays at 6pm PST, Caroline hosts a Self Defense Discussion Series which includes reading, discussion and (potential) movement on self-defense principles. 📺 Join us every 3rd Saturday of the month at 11am PST for Garden Ghibli, where we view a Ghibli movie and attempt to make our way to watch all the magical Ghibli movies! RSVP here!
😷 Hang out, chill and play games with Black folks who take COVID precautions at the Bonfire in Garden! Every 3rd Saturday of the month from 5-8pm PST. The next Bonfire is Saturday, November 16th where we're having an open mic! RSVP here.
💻 Do you work from home and sometimes feel a little too isolated from others? Come Co-Work with us in Garden! We are a 24/7 drop in space for folks to join to co-work silently, listen to music, play a game or chat amongst each other in the chat box.
🎭Long Wharf Theater presents the annual Black Trans Women at the Center event, November 18th at 4pm PST/7pm EST. Featuring short plays by Black Trans Women playwrights, this fully virtual show has free tickets reservable here.
📝We Breathe is inviting LGBTQIA2S+ community members to share their personal experiences with commercial tobacco and nicotine use. Receive a $50 stipend for participating (all participants must reside in California).
💡The Awesome Foundation's Disability chapter offers $1,000 grants every month for projects benefiting the Disability community. Submit your application between the 1st and the 10th of each month to be considered for that month’s grant. If you apply outside of this window, you will not be considered. Apply here.
🏳️⚧️Genderbands is now accepting applications for their Transition Grants. Grants are for trans and gender non-binary youth and adults living in the US, Mexico and Canada. These grants also cover expenses for medical, surgical, social (name change, affirming haircuts, gender affirming clothing, etc) and travel expenses. Applications close November 30th.
